Chris Herwig, Associate



Chris Herwig is an Associate of the Anka Funds. Mr. Herwig previously worked in the Risk Analysis group within the Commercial Lending Department of the Self-Help Credit Union, headquartered in Durham, NC. Self-Help is a national lending institution that works with organizations, communities and individuals traditionally underserved by conventional markets. At Self-Help, Mr. Herwig performed credit analysis on prospective loans and also performed risk analysis on the company’s portfolio of existing commercial loans. Prior to his work at Self-Help Credit Union, Mr. Herwig was employed with SAIC, a northern Virginia based government contractor, in the Intelligence and Information Solutions Business Unit where he worked in roles ranging from software developer to software systems manager. Prior to SAIC, Mr. Herwig was the software manager for Navy Programs where he was responsible for management of the entire lifecycle of software projects including requirements extraction, software development, integration and testing, and final delivery of the product to the customer. Mr. Herwig received a B.S. from Virginia Tech, an M.S. from the University of Maryland University College, and will receive an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
